I created Soften because I wanted beauty services to feel different.
I've been on the other side of the table. I know what it's like to be handed a paper drape with no instructions, to be talked over, to feel like the appointment is happening around you instead of with you. I also know how good it feels when someone is genuinely skilled and genuinely kind at the same time.
So that's the studio I built. I specialize in intentional waxing — Brazilians in particular — along with customized facials and body treatments. Sanitation is strict, technique is deliberate, and the room is set up before you ever walk into it.
What I care about just as much is how the appointment feels. You'll get privacy while you change, professional draping, clear positioning, and an explanation of every step before it happens. You can ask me anything. You can tell me to pause. You can tell me you're nervous, and I won't make it a thing.
More recently I've started teaching — working hands-on with other estheticians on both the technical and the human sides of waxing. Watching someone's confidence change in a single day is a very good feeling.
I work inside Summerset Salon & Day Spa in Flint, Michigan, and I'd be glad to take care of you.

The small things — room temperature, where your clothes go, how the drape sits — are the things people remember.
Communicative
I say what I'm doing before I do it. You should never have to guess what's happening to your own body.
Respectful
No commentary, no raised eyebrows, no jokes at your expense. Just professional work on ordinary human skin.
Unrushed
Your appointment gets the time it needs. I'd rather run a thoughtful schedule than a crowded one.
Human
You can laugh, be quiet, admit you're nervous, or ask the question you've been too embarrassed to ask.
Skilled
Kindness isn't a substitute for technique. The work has to be excellent too — that's non-negotiable.
